I am Lisa Joy Bolden, she/her,
a skill based coach specializing in
executive level communication skills.
I am one of the original executive coaches.

I started my career as a speech pathologist in Chicago
where I launched the Professional Voice Program.
In the days of open outcry pit trading,
I taught commodities traders how to project their voices
at The Board of Trade, The Options Exchange and The Merc.

The traders referred their friends who worked in other fields.
They told me, my smart and talented friend
does not feel heard at work. It must be their voice.
Turned out, it was not their voice at all.

All the skills that helped these individuals reach
their current level were no longer the skills needed
to help them succeed at their current level.
They needed leadership level communication skills.

Speech pathology teaches you how to assess,
set a goal and build a hierarchy to reach that goal.
So, I started a journey to build a series of
leadership level communication skills for my clients.

In 1991, I opened Bolden Communication Inc.
Over the years, my clients have achieved tremendous success
and have asked me to work with their teams.
It has been a joy to join them on their journeys.
I look forward to joining you on your journey.

I was born in Tucson, earned my bachelor's degree
in speech and hearing sciences at The University of Arizona
and my master's degree in speech pathology
from Northwestern University.
I am based in California and work with leaders all over the world.
